Propeller are shining a light on what some of our clients and partners have done to celebrate this month.
Our partner BFS (Brixton Finishing School) have hosted a short series of panel discussions to give Black/mixed-Black identifying members of the Ad industries the opportunity to pass down their invaluable knowledge and lived experiences onto the new generation of Black Talent.
This year’s theme for BHM is: Time for Change, A Year of Action. So they’ve put together a few different themes to help young Black talent, not only survive but THRIVE:
- October 12th 12:30 – 1:30pm: Finding Your Voice (How to advocate for yourself at work)
- October 19th 12:30 – 1:30pm: Knowing Your Worth (Negotiating salaries, pay rises & promotions)
- October 26th 12:30 – 1:30pm: Finding Your Tribe (Where and how to seek out your peers)
This year, Jungle Creations have transformed their LinkedIn page to host a series of posts and videos throughout the month under their ‘Black to Beginning’ campaign, which highlight and showcase key historical facts about Black storytellers.
They also have a byline by their Head of Diversity, Belonging and Talent, Dionne Maxwell which answers – How adland can rekindle its relationship with Black History Month.
Croud’s Culture Club have been internally sharing links of motivational black leaders, groups and LinkedIn courses. Example posters below. The majority of what we are doing is supporting our partner at BYP (a network that empowers black professionals). Attending the conference in person and virtually, hosting a booth on their second day.
