Christmas in July: Ding Dong not so merrily on the high street?

Santa’s elves may be wearing sunscreen and shades, but they have plenty of work to do for retailers. All stakeholders know ‘Christmas in July’ is when the groundwork is laid for a profitable final quarter.

But with store closures rocketing among long-established UK high street names thanks to tightening consumer purse strings and soaring business rates, hopes will be pinned more than ever on optimising the all-important festive fourth quarter.

Tech will hold the key to helping retailers and their suppliers avoid a winter of discontent and enjoy a successful Christmas. Propeller Group is holding a panel event to discuss the issues around Retail Tech and to provide expert insight and practical advice. Mobile optimisation, fulfilment challenges and empowering staff will be among the topics discussed by retail, technology and advertising experts at this event.

The panel is being held on the eve of July 12th (no football, World Cup fans) and participants include Business Architect for River Island and Group Lead of TLA RetailTech Eugene Fisher and Director of Data and Retail for the IMRG Matthew Walsh. The panel will be chaired by Lucy Tesseras, Features Editor for trade title Marketing Week.
