This week, the Propeller team has been tackling the vast halls of the pre-eminent digital marketing exhibition dmexco, in Cologne, for a two day summit which welcomes adtech & martech companies, digital agencies, media agencies, publishers, brands and everything in between.
We kicked off our visit to Cologne by hosting a dinner on the evening of Tuesday 15th September, before the madness of the show started on the Wednesday morning. Organised in conjunction with our partner agency, ElementC, the dinner attracted double the number of attendees from the 2014 event with Propeller clients Quantcast, Ensighten, GlobalWebIndex and Skimlinks coming along for some good pre-event chat, as well as representatives from The Drum and M&M Global.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the team got down to work at the exhibition, making introductions and supporting briefings between clients and media at the show. We also took the chance to walk the halls and catch up with many of our industry contacts, proving that this 32,000-strong event is still a prime meeting space for the digital industry in Europe – and further afield – to gather to do business each year.
On Wednesday night, the now-infamous Online Marketing Rockstars “unofficial” party took place in the Bootshaus on the Rhine river. The venue comprises a warren of rooms with a huge variety of music and fun to be had throughout. As the organisers put it, there are “no neighbours and no rules”. We assume that the partying took its toll on a number of exhibition-goers, since the show floor on Thursday was ever so slightly more subdued than Wednesday!
Thanks to all our clients and contacts for a great show – and we very much look forward to another successful dmexco experience next year.
