After publicising Fintech Week in 2015 and 2016, we journeyed even further into the financial technology rabbit-hole by promoting London’s first ever Blockchain Week.
Contrary to popular belief, blockchain and distributed ledger technologies aren’t just used for the cryptocurrency market, other industries such as music, charities and the energy sector are also being disrupted. For anyone who’s still confused about what blockchain is, we produced our ‘Blockchain Bonanza’ video explaining the new technology. The video was used to open the event and was well received by the audience.
Propeller also held its very own panel ‘Cover your arts – blockchain and the creative industries’, introduced by our founder Martin Loat, where Cliff Fluet from Lewis Silkin LLP, Marcus O’Dair from Middlesex University, PledgeMusic’s Benji Rogers and Tagsmart’s Tom Toumazis discussed the issues artists face when it comes to their intellectual property and how blockchain technology could be used to end the misrepresentation of value in the creative process.
The event was a huge success with our fintech PR team achieving coverage in the likes of Business Insider, City AM and The Memo.
