Propeller’s Charity Challenges

The team at Propeller are eager to get involved in charitable fundraising so we can play our part in supporting those most in need during such a difficult time, and raise money for organisations with noble causes at heart.

As part of our corporate social responsibility programme, we have pledged to raise £10,000 for charities by the end of 2020. The team are all actively getting involved in charities and challenges – even though we are stuck indoors we can still do our bit form the comfort of our homes and make a difference – and have a bit of fun while we’re at it.

We will be supporting various charities throughout the year, in Q2 our focus is on Mind – as in this tough time it’s easy to forget the importance of safeguarding your mental health as well as physical wellbeing. Our staff have come up with numerous ideas in light of this challenge and we have also set up a JustGiving page where donations can be made.

The 2.6 Challenge

We’re excited to announce Propeller Group will be taking part in the 2.6 challenge! Because of COVID-19 thousands of charity events have faced cancelations resulting in a loss of billions in income for the sector. Many charities have had to reduce their services when vulnerable members of society need them most.

The 2.6 challenge asks members of the public to come up with any weird and wonderful ideas for raising money from home whilst relating to the numbers 2 and 6. This holds reference to the London marathon which is 26 miles long but due to Covid-19 had to be cancelled this year; this event alone raised £66.4million for thousands of charities in 2019. The 2.6 challenge creates opportunity for creative and unique ideas, putting the fun in fundraising and allows anyone and everyone to take part.

We’ll be posting about our 2.6 Challenge next week so look out for some of the teams ideas including – apparently – a 26 minute plank by our very own Account Director, Will Parrott! If you can donate even a small amount to this brilliant cause, we’d be very grateful – you can donate here.

Brixton Finishing School

We are also proud to be supporting Brixton Finishing School – the free training programme for people in underrepresented groups in the creative industries – with pro bono PR and content services. COVID-19 is disrupting the futures of young people across the UK and Brixton Finishing School has pivoted rapidly to a digital programme to enable more young people to gain the skills they need for employment during lockdown.

Brixton Finishing School is a not for profit and relies on the generous support of Brands, Advertising Agencies and Media Owners to drive social mobility. Brixton Finishing School needs the industry’s support to safeguard their students’ futures and protect diversity and inclusion in ad-land. The team has launched an emergency crowdfunder to #SaveBFS – can you support with a donation of funds or time to #FundTheirFutures?

The Giving Room

Our chairman Martin has been testing using Zoom and Microsoft Teams meetings as a new way of encouraging WFH business people to donate to NHS and key worker charities. This great initiative is now live – www.thegivingroom.org.

Give it a go if you want to try and raise money for charity in your next Zoom meeting on online seminar: simply grab a donation link or QR code from the site and drop into your next online discussion.
