Client Services Director Kate Chaundy recently returned from working a month abroad as part of Propeller’s new working from anywhere policy. Here, she shares her thoughts on workplace culture and flexible working.
The inhuman layoff procedures by the big tech companies aside, it’s a very positive time within work culture development and great to see the different initiatives companies are adopting. No surprise that in Indeed’s new list of 2023’s best job, Chief People Officer and Director of People and Culture now sit at numbers 5 and 6.
I’m just on the way back from four weeks working in Amsterdam and Berlin as part of Propeller Group‘s ‘work anywhere for a month’ policy. If you have the option to offer this to team members I couldn’t recommend it enough. As well as experiencing different cultures, working abroad in different offices (thanks MassiveMusic) and cafes means I’ve met so many interesting people every day – and learnt a lot.
It also really highlights how much more flexible we can now be in workplaces without losing productivity. Propeller’s four and-a-half-day working week also meant I could see more of the cities on a Friday afternoon! I’m looking forward to seeing the different approaches companies adopt this year and to see workplace cultures continually and positively evolve.
